Taking Great Business Ideas To The Next Level

by Amber Jenkins on December 8, 2009

There are countless small business owners who have a thriving business on their hands but don’t seem to understand or care that they could take things to a whole new level if they so desired.  They’ve stumbled across a great business idea and have turned it into a cash-generating vehicle, but they may not know just how massive the opportunities before them are.  I’ve seen this many times.

For example, I once knew a pizza parlor owner who was making a killing with his single store because the food was excellent and he had a huge following of loyal customers.  But he seemed either too content or too scared to explore opportunities for expansion.  Eventually someone was able to convince him to give it a try, and today his pizza empire includes over a dozen locations.  Needless to say, his income has jumped by a factor of ten, and his only regret is that he didn’t make the leap sooner.  This man now understands that great start up business ideas can blossom into full-scale wealth generators if allowed to grow.

Another good example would be the freelance writer who works from home and is content with the status quo.  True, these folks often make a good living and therefore may not be motivated to go bigger.  Many of them don’t realize, however, that with just a little more gumption and work they could create a much larger operation that returns more profit than they ever could have imagined.  This could be accomplished by setting up a simple LLC and hiring others writers to work for them.  By “subbing” out the labor they could focus on expanding opportunities and business relationships.  This in turn would result in a massive increase in revenue and income.  To juice the profits even further they could hire writers in the Philippines or India who work for a fraction of the cost of American writers.  The possibilities for growth here are endless, as they are with most online business ideas.

As you can see, taking your business income to the next level is quite often very doable if you have the ambition to make it happen.  You might have to work a little bit harder and the risks involved could be a little scary but in the end you’ll probably be happy that you went for it.
