Key cabinets come in very handy for businesses and organizations that have a lot of different keys to keep track of.  The keys may be used to lock up buildings, used for company vehicles or to safeguard other business assets and inventory.  A key cabinet is a convenient way of not only preventing keys from getting into the wrong hands, but also of organizing them in one convenient location.

Key cabinets come in a wide variety of styles and sizes.  There are small cabinets that hold only a few handful of keys all the way up to more elaborate cabinets holding thousands of keys.  There are portable key cabinets and ones that sit on the floor or are mounted to walls.  These cabinets commonly have racks with slots for holding keys, or may contain multiple drawers that pull out.  There are also cabinets that are extra deep for holding bunches or rings of keys instead of single ones.  Key cabinets can be made of a heavy duty steel or metal or be more decorative in nature and be made of wood.

One major consideration when choosing a key cabinet is how it will lock.  There are key cabinets that lock with a key.  Others use a combination lock just like a safe or lock would.  Then there are the electronic key cabinets that have a keypad much like a security system does.  The electronic lock has the advantage of being able to key in hundreds or even thousands of different pass code combinations to help increase security.

When choosing the best key cabinet for your business you will of course need to take into consideration how many keys you need to store, where your key cabinet will be located and who needs to have access to the keys stored inside the cabinet as well as the level of security you need to have.  All of these factors will help you determine which key cabinet is best for your business.
